Replacement Dwelling in Conservation Area

Category: Rural

Location: Leicestershire

The Assignment

To gain planning permission for the demolition of existing buildings and erection of a replacement dwelling in the Conservation Area.

How we succeeded

The application made the case that the proposed replacement dwelling is of a bespoke design and is of a traditional vernacular style which is of a high order as sought by national and local policy. The design of the proposed dwelling takes its cue from traditionally designed dwellings to be found in the surrounding area and would sit comfortably within the landscape, significantly improving the appearance of the surrounding countryside by replacing a dwelling of utilitarian design with a more attractive dwelling, procuring a positive improvement to the visual appearance of the application site.
